Our Story & Vision

Strategy consulting to support the acceleration of transitions in European finance

to provide insight into equity stories and value creation levers in the light of the New Climate Era.

Determined to bring a fresh approach to European finance, Weastem was launched with one clear observation: the first model of sustainable finance has reached its limits.

For 15 years, we helped build that model — structuring ESG, deploying tools, designing funds. But despite those efforts, the verdict is undeniable: the 1.5°C threshold has been crossed, biodiversity is collapsing, inequalities are widening, and incremental ESG progress has run out of road.

We believe it’s time to open a new chapter. Like a Copernican revolution, it means shifting perspective: finance is not the center around which everything turns, but part of a larger system — the economy itself, embedded in the living world.

Weastem was created to help investors and corporates navigate this shift. Our role: to move beyond silos, rethink strategies in systemic terms, and create the conditions for finance to serve essential needs, resilience, and regeneration.

Led by Emmanuel Parmentier, Imène Maharzi, and Charlotte Salmon, our 20-strong team brings together strategy, finance, and sustainability expertise to support clients with clarity, responsibility, and collaboration in the New Climate Era.

What's at the intersection of creativity, vision, strategy and operations?
In our case, our name!

WEASTEM - a hybrid mix of words, sounds and concepts - encapsulates in what drives us, where we are heading, what we work on and how we build.

WE
WE, as a pronoun, as a collective beyond the team, a joint effort, a common journey, a focus on people beyond titles or structures over time, a call for collective intelligence to work around the daunting challenges of the New Climate Era

When we started exploring ESG in 2011 with that talented finance professional in asset management, who would have thought that our business journey together would encompass collaboration on data intelligence, portfolio engagement, community building, investment strategy and ultimately the strategy of the asset management firm at large.

WEA
WEA - from "weaving": building meaningful relationships and connections between people, ecosystems, ideas, sectors, building bridges between spheres that hardly interact with one another

What exemplifies this element the most is our deep relationship with Change Now, and namely the Funds for Change programme. A unique catalyst of ideas and meaningful connections between innovative GPs and curious LPs over the full spectrum of Private Assets.

STEM
STEM - from "system": recognizes the vital importance of systems in our approach, in the way we cooperate, in the way we create conditions for priorities and behaviours to change, in how we consider interdependencies, in how we focus on structures and connections beyond the individual parts. In a nutshell - where we put our attention and care to allow for impact beyond incremental progress

When working at the intersection of LPs and GPs relationships, GPs and their co-investors, GPs and their M&A providers, but also of GPs and PortCos, we bring to the table an educated view of each individual's needs and constraints, so that interconnectedness becomes an advantage.

Team's verbatims

“Risk and resilience angle: we see our mission as helping financial actors navigate the profound risks of the New Climate Era. By embedding sustainability into investment theses and corporate strategies, we turn what looks like volatility into a source of resilience and long-term value.”

Team's verbatims

“Systems and cooperation angle: in today's financial ecosystem, no player can succeed in isolation. Our work is to help investors and executives connect the dots - between strategy, sustainability, and capital allocation - so that transitions become both credible and investable.”
